The final act of the inspection involves what most folks incorrectly assume is the only  important element of the inspection, the tailpipe emissions reading which is taken from the vehicle while driving it on the dyno. The importance of the proper procedure in the first 2 elements of the inspection might well greatly affect the outcome of this element. Remember that accidently disconnected hose? Re-installing it might well make the difference between the vehicle passing or failing so hopefully the technician you have chosen to conduct your inspection has your best interests in mind instead of his next house payment.
